Eloping In Yosemite National Park
Why Yosemite?
Yosemite offers breathtaking landscapes that create an unforgettable backdrop for elopements, with its towering granite cliffs and numerous water features. Couples can exchange vows in secluded spots surrounded by majestic trees and stunning vistas, ensuring an intimate and romantic experience. The park’s diverse natural beauty throughout makes it a truly picturesque place to elope.
How do we do it?
If you’re looking to get the most out of your elopement a little bit of planning is key. You will need a permit to be married in the park - so figuring out where and when will should be your first steps! From there I am happy to assist at any point in the planning process from offering spot guidance to planning the day for you. My goal is to help you achieve the adventure you’ve been dreaming of and capture it beautifully.
Where in Yosemite?
If you are planning to elope with a group that has fewer than 11 guests you can have your ceremony (almost) anywhere in the park! I’ve listed my 3 favorite spots below. I still always encourage researching some areas in the park to ensure you get the backdrop you envision for your big day.
1. Olmsted Point
Olmsted Point offers views in every direction with half dome as a beautiful backdrop. This is my favorite location for ceremonies. Beyond its beauty this spot is also located near several locations I love to visit with couples. You can access Olmsted point from road opening to September 30th and it has parking at the site.
2. Taft Point
Taft Point provides a dramatic vantage point with its sheer cliffs overlooking the valley. If you are looking for a truly dramatic spot to say “I do” in Yosemite this is it. You can access Taft Point from road opening to September 30th and parking is 1 mile away.
3. Tenaya Lake
Tenaya Lake and its serene waters offer a tranquil backdrop for ceremonies. This is one of my favorite spots to be at sunrise. You can access Tenaya Lake from road opening to September 30th and it has parking at the site.
Larger Group?
If you are looking to still have an adventure but bring the whole family along there are plenty of locations in the park for bigger groups too! There are options up to 100 guests as well. You can view those locations and specific info for each HERE
